Ponte carrabile

Chiesina Uzzanese (PT), Italy - 2009

In the Tuscan countryside, the construction of a new road network involves the design of a road bridge to overcome a small stream. The context of the intervention suggests the hypothesis of a sculptural element lying on the banks of the underlying stream obtained by covering the prefabricated infrastructure with panels made of corten steel sheet. The side currents of the bridge house, integrated into the body, a thin line of continuous light that in addition to illuminating the roadway creates a soft reverberation on the underlying water course.
